The Global Justice XML Data Model (JXDM) is model-based, object-oriented, and extensible. The official home of the Global JXDM is the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Information Technology Website. The Global JXDM namespace is http://www.it.ojp.gov/jxdm. This namespace URL resolves to the Global JXDM release archives and associated documentation.
The Global JXDM is sponsored by the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), with development supported by the Global XML Structure Task Force (XSTF) which works closely with researchers here at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). New releases are issued by the XSTF, which reviews and evaluates each version of the Global JXDM. The XSTF solicits feedback from technical experts and practitioners in both industry and government and authorizes Global JXDM changes based on this feedback. All approved additions, deletions, and modifications are applied to future releases, with a cumulative change log published along with each release. When a reasonable number of updates are approved by the XSTF, a new version is released.
The Schema Subset Generation Tool (SSGT) enables the user to search and navigate the Global JXDM, find components required for his/her application, select those components with or without their sub-components, and generate a correct Global JXDM schema subset for validation of XML instances.
The Load/Save function in the Schema Subset Generation Tool (SSGT) uses a Wantlist to preserve the details of a schema subset. The Wantlist format is XML. The current Wantlist schema specification is:
Note that this specification will change as we add capabilities to SSGT (such as global constraints).
